2001-03-24 - 12:45 am I just want to get this out of my system. Every generation there is a gap when it comes to music. The generation before another mocks each other. Especially when it comes to music. It always the parents mocking the kids and vise versa. I just heard on the tv on Political Correct about the Madonna video. Movie critic Ebert goes "This vidoe poor, the song is terrrible and it is awaste of time." My Mom thought that was funny and very true. Well, Mom you are just following the cycle. I love you, but you are! That video there is nothing wrong that I have not seen in a rap video. As well as the song is kick ass on the cd, but different the video. The generation before yours...your parents generation said "Beatles is so wrong and devil's music. I would never let my child have that hair cut." Same thing with Elvis....Ricky Martin does the same dances as him....it was too sexual for elvis on tv to shake his hips filmed waste up. Ok, what about how swing music was wrong? And how jazz was african american music and devil created it? How about years later Madonna burning a cross or sex on tv? What about Mozart, during his time his music was wrong, but today it is praised ? How about Eminem, some say it is art while others say it is wrong? He gets praised left and right by legends and others. I just guess the generation gap will never leave. This cycle is the same generation after generation. Some day I might even say my kids music is wrong. It is just a walk of life I guess. A total natural mind set as well. Though I hate it when my parents try to get cool sometimes and talk about my music like they like it. Ok, you are using for commucation and bonding. Though it is not appealing to me personally.
